You will also be able to savour the unique taste of Vernaccia di San Gimignano, the only Tuscan white wine that can boast the highest level of acknowledgement, i.e. D.O.C.G. The sampling, accompanied by a light lunch at a famous estate of the area, will give you the possibility to discover the ancient winemaking traditions which also give life to a selection of other wines.
In the afternoon, the town of Montalcino, its centuries old fortress and one of the best wine cellars reviewed in specialised magazines will be the main destination of our trip. Owing to the masterly work in the cellar, which involves a long period of ageing in fine wooden barrels, Brunello di Montalcino, the prime product of the area, known as the “Italian ambassador in the world of our winemaking reality”, is today the most appreciated wine product in the whole world. With us you will sample prestigious wines with a rich snack based on sliced cold meats, cheeses and bruschettas and you will discover Montalcino, the splendid Abbazia di Sant’Antimo (St. Antimo’s Abbey) famous for Gregorian chants and the beautiful surrounding area.
