After about an hour's journey reached the town of Cefalu, located in the shadow of the fortress-shaped head (Cephaloedium), which gives its name to the city.
The tour starts passing by "Porta Terra" one of the ancient city gates.
Adjacent to it is the baroque church of Santa Maria della Catena, which incorporates part of the ancient walls.
Continuing the walk through the medieval streets meet l 'Osteria Great, fortified building probably of Norman origin, which seems to have been the residence of King Roger.
From here we reach Piazza Duomo square, overlooking the entire village, stands the imposing Norman Cathedral. Marvelous mosaics adorn the inside, your eyes are immediately drawn to the majestic image of Christ Pantocrator, the most spectacular examples of Byzantine mosaics in Sicily. Continuing to "Via Vittorio" we see the "wash-medieval" carved into the rock. Departure for S. Stefano di Camastra, after half an hour approx. arriving at the town famous throughout the world for its art of pottery, a tradition handed down by local artisans from the fifteenth century.
