DAY 1 - ROME/SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO
Departure by train from Rome Termini, arriving at Foggia Station from where you will be transfered by private car to
your hotel in San Giovanni Rotondo, important city for Padre Pio’s life..Overnight in the hotel.
DAY 2 - SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO
Breakfast at the hotel. Day at your disposal to visit san Giovanni Rotondo where Padre Pio lived from 28th July 1916
until his death on 23 September 1968. He became famous for his stigmata. The miracle was recognized by the Pope,
after the approval of the three commissions canonically required. The Medical Consultations of the Congregation for
the Causes of Sainights , examined the caseand with a unanimous vote judged it "scientifically inexplicable". Finally the
Pope officially recognized the miracle with the Decree of 21 December 1998 and fixed the date for the Beatification for
Sunday, 2 May 1999. Millions of faithful exult with joy and make ready to participate in the happy ceremony in Saint
Peter's Square. On 26 February 2002 was Canonizated. In San Giovanni Rotondo you can visit the crave and the Santa
Maria delle Grazie sanctuary where Padre Pio ‘s body will be showed until Septem ber 2009.
During his life which was dedicated entirely to the fulfilment of his priestly ministry, he founded the "Prayer Groups"
and a modern hospital to which he gave the name "The Home for the Relief of Suffering". "Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, like
the Apostle Paul, placed the holy Cross, that was his strength, his wisdom and his glory at the apex of his life and his
apostolate.Free from the vanities of the world and enamoured of jesus Christ, he conformed himself to Him, offering up

DAY 3 - SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO / ROME
Breakfast at the hotel,transfer by private car to Foggia Station, departure by train to Rome. End of our services.
